2026 vs. 2025 Nissan Frontier: Trim Levels

2026 vs. 2025 Nissan Frontier: Trim Levels

Comparing the 2025 Nissan Frontier vs. 2026 Nissan Frontier trim lineups reveals that one trim level, the SL, has been retired in 2026. Most amenities and performance specs have carried over, with a few notable exceptions.

  • Nissan Frontier S
  • Nissan Frontier SV
  • Nissan Frontier PRO-X
  • Nissan Frontier PRO-4X
  • Nissan Frontier SL (2025 only)

The S trim starts the lineup off strong with Automatic Emergency Braking with Pedestrian Detection and remote keyless entry with push-button start. LED lamps are now standard for 2026.

Next up, the Frontier SV is impressive across the board with its 17-inch aluminum-alloy wheels, 12.3-inch touchscreen, and wireless Apple CarPlay®. The 2025 and 2026 Frontier SV add an eight-way power driver's seat to this configuration as well as to the PRO models. The SV trim also offers a heated leather steering wheel and heated front seats, dual-zone automatic climate control, and remote start through the All-Weather Package for 2026. These amenities are standard for the PRO editions.

The 2026 PRO-X and PRO-4X trims offer the new Citrus Strike hue. For both model years, these configurations have Bilstein® off-road performance shock absorbers and other rugged features for enhanced off-road performance.

If you opt for the top-level SL trim, it is only available for the 2025 Frontier and comes with a power sliding glass moonroof with a tilt feature and an Intelligent Around View Monitor. For 2026, the monitor is standard on the PRO-4X configuration, but the moonroof is only available as a package upgrade.

2026 vs. 2025 Nissan Frontier: Specs & Performance

The updates introduced in recent model years have not touched the truck's solid capabilities. All trim levels are offered with your choice of a two-door King Cab or four-door Crew Cab body style. They also each have a 3.8-liter V-6 engine with a nine-speed automatic transmission. For all trims except the PRO-4X, rear-wheel drive is standard, and four-wheel drive with low-range gearing is available. An available locking rear differential and Bilstein® shock absorbers can prime your truck for off-roading.

2026 vs. 2025 Nissan Frontier: Design & Colors

The Nissan Frontier is known for its unique character, with a rigid, horizontal beltline definition and Black molding that flares over the wheel wells. At the front, the bumper molding extends upward over the rectangular grille. The fog lamps and headlights are both rectangular as well.

Overall, the exterior of the 2026 Nissan Frontier carries over to the 2025 model year with very few changes. However, it's worth noting that the newer edition offers a new Dark Armor style package with understated blacked-out elements.

I just bought my Frontier Pro4x here. First I have to say that this vehicle is underrated compared to small pickups of other brands, the frontier feels superior, more comfortable and overall better truck than Tacoma. Second, the sales team treated me better than other stores, open with the price no hidden surprises, they made sure all my questions were answered before leaving. I am Happy with my purchase.
